Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing Lab
The Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing Lab equips students with skills to provide care to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum, as well as for gynaecological health issues. It helps students understand maternal and reproductive health in clinical and community settings.
Objectives:
To develop competencies in maternal and newborn care.
To train students in conducting antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal assessments.
To enable care for gynaecological conditions and reproductive health concerns.
To promote awareness of safe motherhood practices and family planning.
To strengthen the understanding of obstetric emergencies and appropriate interventions.
Key Activities:
Simulation of normal and high-risk deliveries.
Demonstration of prenatal and postnatal assessments.
Practice of family planning procedures and counselling.
Care of newborns, including resuscitation and feeding.
Health education sessions on maternal and reproductive health.
